An indoor tournament in a small country is a particular kind of event. The hall at Kockelscheuer seats a crowd that would be a side court elsewhere, and that is precisely why players entered it: a covered court, a short draw, and a week of matches at the end of the outdoor season, close enough to everywhere in Europe to reach by road.

The front page of such a tournament's website did the work a press office does — a note about a special guest, a line about the first press conference, the order of play — and it did that work in the languages the country reads, which is why the same page exists here in French and in German. Read now, it is a record of how a small event announced itself before social networks took the job over.
