Fortis Championships is an independent English-language tennis publication. It explains how professional tennis works — tournament tiers and rankings, the rules, what happens at a tournament, equipment — and covers tennis in Luxembourg.
The name
The domain fortis-championships.lu once belonged to the official website of the Fortis Championships Luxembourg, the WTA tournament played indoors at the CK Sportcenter in Kockelscheuer. That website's pages are kept in our tournament archive. The publication is not the organiser of any tournament and is not affiliated with the WTA, the ITF, the former organiser IWTP, BNP Paribas Fortis or any former sponsor.
How we work
Every guide is built on official sources — the WTA and ATP rulebooks, the ITF Rules of Tennis, tournament and federation sites, manufacturers' own documentation — which are named in the text and listed at the end of each article. Figures that change every season, such as point tables and prize money, are given with the year they refer to. Photographs come from free-licence sources and are credited to their authors.
